Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services, insurance coverage, and treatment protocols.

I'm not sure if the headaches I'm having are migraine attacks. Can you help?

Our providers are trained headache specialists who can diagnose and treat any type of headache. Haven has you covered.

What services do you offer?

We offer a comprehensive range of evidence-based services for headache and migraine care, including same-day IV care, preventive injections, and proactive help in managing your headaches. We pride ourselves on bringing the best of headache center services to you in a fast, virtual platform.

What medications do you prescribe?

We prescribe a variety of evidence-backed medications to help treat headaches and migraine. As a result of this evidenced based approach, we do not prescribe opioids or barbiturates.

Where do you offer clinical Botox treatments?

We currently offer clinical Botox treatments through partner providers in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. If Botox is part of your care plan, our Care Navigators will help you arrange these treatments.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We are in-network with all major insurance PPO/EPO plans, including Aetna, UnitedHealth, Blue Shield of California, Anthem, and Cigna. At this time we are not taking patients on Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal, and most HMO plans. We offer affordable cash pay services as well.

How much are visits?

If we are in network with your PPO or EPO plan, regular cost sharing like copays and deductibles will apply for Haven virtual appointments and in-person clinic visits. If you are paying cash or are pre-deductible, our visits vary from $175-300, depending on session length and procedures. If you receive Botox as a medically necessary part of your care plan, the Botox material will also be an added cost.

Why am I being billed for headache treatments by companies that are not Haven?

All care costs are billed directly by Haven's contract providers and partner clinics. If you need any help navigating costs, insurance, or have questions about billing - we're here to help.

What happens if I miss an appointment?

Out of respect for other patients and our providers, we ask that you give 24-hour notice for cancellation. However, we understand that life happens. Every member receives a one-time forgiveness for a missed appointment—after that you will be charged the full cost of a missed visit.
