Meet Karissa Secora

Karissa Secora, DMSc, PA-C, AQH, is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in advanced headache medicine. With over 11 years of experience, she provides patient-centered care for complex primary and secondary headache disorders. Practicing at the Haven Headache & Migraine Center, she develops personalized, evidence-based treatment plans aimed at improving patient quality of life. Her approach includes assessing various lifestyle factors such as sleep, workspace ergonomics, and mental health. Her extensive clinical expertise includes advanced interventional procedures such as Botox, nerve blocks, and sphenopalatine ganglion blocks.Karissa earned her Doctorate of Medical Sciences from the University of Lynchburg, focusing on PA education, healthcare administration, and executive leadership. She holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (AQH) in Headache Medicine from the National Headache Foundation. Recognized for excellence, she was named Physician Assistant of the Year by the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants in 2018. As an active American Headache Society member, she contributes to leading medical journals, including Headache, Practical Neurology, and Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports. Outside the clinic, Karissa enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband, two rescue German shepherds, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
