Living with migraine or chronic headache disorder means facing more than pain.
It often means delays in diagnosis, few treatment options, and stigma that dismisses the condition as “just a headache.”

The Headache Education, Access, Diagnosis, and Care Health Equity (HEADACHE) Act aims to change that.

What the HEADACHE Act Would Do

If passed, the bill would:

  • Fund new research to speed up diagnosis and develop better treatments.
  • Train more specialists so patients can access care faster.
  • Improve care pathways that address both headache disorders and related conditions.
  • Expand data collection to close equity gaps and improve access to underserved groups.
  • Launch awareness campaigns to reduce stigma and shift how society views headache disorders.
  • Require annual progress reports to Congress so momentum isn’t lost.

Why Haven Supports This

Haven proudly supports the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy (AHDA), the nonprofit that made this bill possible.

AHDA’s work includes:

  • Organizing Headache on the Hill, where patients and providers meet with lawmakers.
  • Fighting for fair policies and funding for headache care.
  • Raising the voices of people with migraine and other headache disorders at the national level.

Their advocacy laid the foundation for the HEADACHE Act, and we’re honored to stand with them.
