Get support from our expert clinicians specializing in Botox injections for chronic migraine

Botox is an FDA-approved treatment for chronic migraine, defined as 15 or more headache days per month. It works by blocking the release of pain-signaling chemicals from nerve endings, preventing the activation of pain pathways that lead to migraine attacks. Unlike oral medications, Botox is administered locally via injection, minimizing its spread throughout the body.

Our migraine specialists will meet with you 1:1 to create a personalized migraine attack plan. If they recommend in-person preventive migraine procedures, they will partner you with experts in your area.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I should see a headache specialist?

Many headache sufferers convince themselves that their pain is “normal,” that they’ve already “tried everything”, or that their symptoms are just “something they have to live with.” But if headaches are affecting your quality of life or causing you to miss work or social events, Haven can help.

What types of headache does Haven treat?

You may or may not be aware of what type of headache you are experiencing. Whether this is your first appointment with a specialist or you are looking for a second opinion on a diagnosis you’ve already received, Haven can help. The following are common conditions we treat, but we’re happy to evaluate any patients experiencing headache symptoms.

  • Migraine with or without aura
  • Vestibular migraine
  • Post-concussion headache
  • Cluster headache
  • Menstrual headache
  • Long COVID headache
  • Daily persistent headache
  • Tension headache
What treatment options does Haven offer?

Haven specialists leverage the latest research and a comprehensive range of evidence-based treatments for headache and migraine. Our services include virtual specialist appointments, same-day IV care, preventive injections, and proactive help in managing your headaches. As part of your treatment plan, we may also prescribe a variety of medications to help treat headache and migraine (e.g. preventive injections, nerve blocks).

How much do visits cost?

If we are in-network with your PPO, EPO, Medicare, or TRICARE plan, regular cost-sharing like copays and deductibles will apply for Haven virtual appointments and in-person procedures. Haven is not in-network with most HMO plans. However, we do offer a cash pay option for our virtual appointments, which ranges between $224-$374 depending on the length of visit.

Do I qualify for care with Haven?

Haven is currently available to patients in California who are 18 or older. We are in-network with most major PPO, EPO, Medicare, and TRICARE plans in California and are also available as a cash pay service. We are not able to accept patients with Medicaid or Medi-Cal at this time.

How does Botox treatment work?

Botox treatment works by blocking nerve signals that cause muscle contractions, reducing migraine frequency and severity. Unlike oral medications, Botox is administered locally via injections, minimizing its spread throughout the body.

How do I know if Botox treatment is right for me?

You will be connected 1:1 with a specialized clinician who will inquire about your health and headache history, and what treatments you are currently on, and those you’ve tried in the past. Once they fully understand your situation, your clinician will create a detailed headache treatment plan. If Botox is right for you, they will connect you with a specialist in your area.
